SMS Opt-In & Proof of Consent

Effective date: August 11, 2026

This page documents how GoMobile Tires obtains express written consent before sending SMS messages, in compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CTIA Messaging Principles & Best Practices, and the requirements of our SMS provider for A2P 10DLC brand and campaign vetting.

1. Where Consent Is Collected

GoMobile Tires collects SMS opt-in consent at a single point in the customer journey: the final step of checkout, immediately below the mobile phone number field, on the following customer-facing flows:

  • Direct shop checkout (/shop)
  • Book Install flow (/book-install)
  • Embedded booking widget on franchise and partner websites
  • Partner referral booking links (/book/:partnerCode)

The opt-in checkbox is unchecked by default. Consent requires an affirmative action by the customer (clicking the checkbox before submitting the order). Consent is not a condition of purchase — customers can complete their order without opting in.

2. Exact Disclosure Language

The following label and disclosure are shown next to the opt-in checkbox at checkout. This is the verbatim text the customer reads before granting consent:

Text me appointment reminders & order updates

By checking this box, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from GoMobile Tires at the mobile number above (appointment reminders, order status updates, dispatch alerts). Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and SMS Terms.

3. What We Record at the Moment of Consent

For every customer who checks the opt-in box and submits the order, we store an immutable record on the order itself with the following fields:

  • sms_opt_in — boolean (true)
  • sms_opt_in_at — UTC timestamp of the consent event
  • sms_opt_in_text — the exact disclosure shown to the user (snapshot of the wording above)
  • customer_phone — the mobile number that consent applies to
  • order_id / customer_email — identifiers tying the consent record to the customer

Storing the disclosure text alongside the timestamp means we can reproduce, on demand, exactly what the customer saw at the moment they granted consent — even if the on-page wording is later updated.

4. Message Categories

We send only the following categories of message under this opt-in:

  • Appointment reminders for scheduled tire installations.
  • Order status updates (payment confirmed, dispatched, completed).
  • Dispatch alerts (technician en-route, arrival window updates).
  • Operational follow-ups related to a specific service appointment.

We do not send marketing, promotional, or third-party messages on this channel. Marketing messages require a separate, distinct opt-in.

5. Sample Messages

The following sample bodies are representative of the messages sent under this program. Each message identifies the sender (GoMobile Tires) and includes opt-out instructions on first contact.

Hi Alex! Reminder: your GoMobile Tires installation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5 at 10:00 AM. Reply HELP for support, STOP to opt out.

6. Opt-Out and Help Handling

Customers can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message from our number. STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, and QUIT are all honored. After opt-out, we send one final confirmation message and then suppress all future SMS to that number until the customer opts in again.

Replying HELP returns a brief description of the program plus our support contact information.
